What is known about DHKP-C

DHKP-C – the revolutionary people's liberation party-front – is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union. The terrorist group adheres to extreme left-wing ideology and has been actively carrying out attacks and murders in Turkey since the 1980s. DHKP-C's most high-profile attacks include the 2013 suicide bombing in front of the US embassy in Ankara and the murder of prosecutor Mehmet Selim Kiraz. The group was also responsible for the 1996 murder of Ozdemer Sabanci, a tycoon who was part of a prominent business dynasty.

After the attack on the US embassy in February 2013, in March of that year, DHKP-C launched missile attacks on the Turkish Ministry of Justice in Ankara and the headquarters of the ruling Justice and Development Party.

The group has become less active in Turkey in recent years, but remains a serious security threat.

By the way, the Georgian State Security Service stated that it had detained a cargo with six explosive devices, some of which were allegedly transported from Odessa to Voronezh “to commit terrorist attacks.”
