Germany continues to delay the provision of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine. At the same time, the Bundestag expressed indignation at the slow supply of weapons for our state.

It recently became known that the United States will no longer be able to supply armed assistance to Ukraine. This will remain in effect until the US Congress is eventually able to pass financial aid to Ukraine.

Ukraine needs Taurus for attacks on targets in Russia

Several leading representatives of the Bundestag parties on defense spoke in favor of providing Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles for attacks on targets in Russia. Interestingly, the federal government previously called this position unacceptable.

Regarding the supply of Taurus to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the speaker on defense issues from the “greens” Sarah Nanni and the foreign policy expert of the opposition Christian Democratic Union, former Bundeswehr Colonel Roderich Kiesewetter, spoke earlier.

Politicians emphasize that Ukraine should have the right to use these long-range missiles to destroy Russian installations from which the occupiers launch missiles.

The most effective defense against Russian airstrikes are aimed at targets in Russian territory and in the occupied territories of eastern Ukraine, from where Russia launches its attacks. – Nanni noted.

She also stated that this is the best protection for Ukrainian civilians and it is provided for by international law.

At the same time, Kiesewetter believes that German cruise missiles will be indispensable for such attacks.

Taurus is important because this system is very effective and can be used to destroy supply and control structures far behind the front line,” the politician emphasized.

He also suggested that with the help of long-range weapons Ukraine could destroy the Crimean bridge, which will exclude the possibility of supplying Russian troops through Crimea, destroy the Black Sea Fleet, and also force the enemy to capitulate, thus liberating the peninsula.

One of the CDU politicians, Norbert Röttgen, once again criticized the federal government for the fact that it still does not supply Ukraine with any additional long-range weapons systems. However, the office is worried that German weapons could be used to launch attacks deep into Russian territory.
