In a small German town, a police operation against an armed man lasted for more than 35 hours. A German of Russian origin barricaded himself in a residential building with a child and fired in the direction of law enforcement officers.

The event took place on the afternoon of November 10 in the town of Vieritz in Brandenburg with a population of 300 people.

A local court order had to be executed against the family – the man was facing a child custody case. However, the boy's father barricaded himself in the house, where his brother, wife and son were with him.

The operation began after a militant barricaded himself and opened fire with a machine gun. According to BILD, he threatened to blow up his house if the police arrived and set traps.

Emergency services tried to establish contact with him for several hours, but in vain. Police say the man was “very aggressive.” Several times shots were fired from the house towards law enforcement officers.

At some point, the shooter's armed brother left the house and was arrested. Then the wife and child fled. In total, the confrontation lasted more than 35 hours.

At one point, an explosion occurred in the house. When law enforcement officers entered the room, the shooter was already dead.

What is known about the arrow

According to German media, the shooter turned out to be a German of Russian origin, who had an entire arsenal at home. As they progressed, police recovered and seized firearms, ammunition and other dangerous items, including a hand grenade.

Journalists said that the deceased was a fan of “Stalin and cannabis.” On his social networks, he regularly published photographs from his military service, images of weapons, military equipment and state symbols of Russia.

The shooter's cause of death has not yet been announced. Journalists allowed themselves to assume that suicide had occurred. However, the police have not yet commented on this.
