Unknown persons attacked the official representative of the French government, Prisca Thévenot. She was just putting up election posters.

The incident occurred on the evening of July 3rd. Thévenot was accompanied by several members of her campaign group.

Minors were involved in the attack

< p>Prisca Thévenot is a government spokeswoman and member of parliament in the 8th constituency of Hauts-de-Seine.

She was attacked in the city of Meudon, located 10 kilometers near Paris.

“This evening candidate Prisca Thévenot and members of her campaign team were attacked by four men in Meudon while putting up campaign posters. There is no place in our democracy violence and intimidation. They have no place in our Republic. I express my full solidarity with the candidate and her team. Let’s reject the atmosphere of violence and hatred that reigns,” wrote French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.

Preliminarily, according to BFMTV, approximately 15 people took part in the attack on Thevenot. Four attackers, three of whom were minors, were detained by the police.

Two victims from Thevenot’s team were taken to the hospital. She herself was not injured.

The prosecutor's office began an investigation into the act of violence with the use of weapons, as well as violence against an official.
