The Central Criminal Police in Finland demands the arrest of the Russian Vojislav Torden (Yan Petrovsky). He is suspected of committing war crimes in Ukraine.

Journalists refer to the arrest order. It indicates that Vojislav Torden, also known as Jan “Slavic” Petrovsky, may have committed war crimes in 2014 – 2015.

Torden denies everything

The Helsinki District Court reported to the STT news agency that on December 18 in the second half Day there will be a meeting on this case.

Please note that Deputy Prosecutor General Jukka Rappe previously made a decision. It concernedthe start of a preliminary investigation into probable crimes that Thorden could have committed in Ukraine.

He noted that the investigation would be carried out in Finland. Consequently, according to the decision of the Supreme Court, Torden cannot be extradited to Ukraine, as we talked about earlier.

What is known about Torden’s detention

It is known that Torden was arrested in Finland on July 20. This happened at the entrance to the flight to Nice in France. On that day, the border patrol was just carrying out control for foreign citizens. Actually, Torden at the Helsinki-Vantaa airport showed a Russian passport and residence permit issued by Finland.

Border guard, citing their own intelligence data, suspected that Torden's previous name was Jan Petrovsky. According to official data, he is prohibited from entering the territory of the Schengen zone. A corresponding ban was introduced by both Norway and the Czech Republic.

Actually, Jan Petrovsky, suspected of war crimes in Ukraine, lived in Finland, but under a fictitious name – Vojislav Torden. Please note that he is under sanctions from the USA, EU, Japan, Switzerland and New Zealand.

Note that on December 11, one of the district courts of Finland left Yan Petrovsky in custody. He is one of the leaders of the Russian neo-Nazi group DSHRG “Rusich”.

It is interesting that on December 8 he was released from custody. Then Petrovsky was not allowed to be extradited to Ukraine. At the same time, Finnish border guards immediately returned the suspect to custody. Reason: violation of the Aliens Law.
