The increase in production at the Sastamali plant, which produces casings for artillery shells, is related to the war in Ukraine, since artillery shells play a key role in Finnish aid to Ukraine, the report said.

It also explained that the European Union's Asap project to increase ammunition production would require funding from the Finnish government.

Furthermore , if successful, the company will build a new plant for the production of artillery shells.
