Musa Lomaev
In Finland, a suspect in the attempted murder of the Chechen blogger Musa Lomaev, known for criticism of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, was detained. According to Kavkaz.Realii, this is the fourth state of emergency since the beginning of the year with the participation of Chechen bloggers in Europe.
Lomaev said that an investigation is currently underway, during which he was taken under protection and his activity in the video blog was temporarily limited. According to Lomaev, the ordering parties offered $ 500,000 for his murder.
Lomaev runs a YouTube channel where he often criticizes the Chechen authorities. According to the newspaper, in 2004, when the blogger was in Grozny, he was kidnapped and tortured by the police. Lomaev was accused of terrorist attacks against law enforcement officers.
In January, Imran Aliyev, known under the pseudonym Mansur Stary, was killed in France. His body with traces of violent death was found in the hotel. Sources familiar with the investigation suggested that the killer could be connected with the head of Chechnya, but this version was not confirmed.
In February, it became known about the attack in Poland on the blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov, also known for criticizing Kadyrov. It was noted that the attacker introduced himself as a policeman and made his way into the apartment where Abdurakhmanov lives. He tried to kill the sleeping blogger with a hammer, after the attack the victim was hospitalized. In Chechnya, they said that the attempt on the blogger's life looks like a comedy.
Blogger Mamikhan (Anzor) Umarov was shot in the head in July in Austria. Representatives of the Chechen diaspora believe that the head of Chechnya could have been involved in the crime, since Umarov often criticized him. Kadyrov, on the other hand, accused foreign special services of the blogger's murder – in his opinion, they work against him and Russia as a whole. Later, his relatives from the village of Mesker-Yurt in Chechnya claimed responsibility for the murder of Umarov.
