A plane made a hard landing at Halifax Stanfield International Airport in Canada due to a malfunction. The incident occurred on the evening of December 28. At that time, there were 73 passengers on the plane.

This was reported by 24 Channel with reference to the airport's message on the social network X.

Plane skids on runway

Air Canada Express spokesman Peter Fitzpatrick told CNN that the plane, flight number AC2259, took off from St. John's in Newfoundland but “failed to reach the terminal,” forcing all passengers to board a bus.

An Air Canada Express plane was unable to land safely due to problems with its landing gear. The pilots were forced to make a dangerous maneuver during which the plane's wing and engine hit concrete on the ground.

The cause of the possible landing gear problem is unknown, the airline said, adding: “Out of respect for the investigation process, we cannot speculate and have no further information to provide at this time,” the newspaper writes.

According to one of the passengers, Aidan O'Callaghan, the danger arose when the plane skidded along the runway. Another passenger, Nikki Valentine, noted that people in the cabin heard a sound “similar to a car crash” and saw flames on the left side of the plane through the windows.

There were no fatalities among the crew or passengers as a result of the hard landing. Some of them received minor injuries.
