In Bukovina, a priest of the UOC-MP did not allow the body of a military man who died in the war to be brought into the temple. The deceased was buried right on the street, under the church.
OCU priest Roman Grischuk spoke about this on Facebook, Channel 24 writes.
The deceased warrior – Vasily Katan went to war as a volunteer. His death became known on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion – February 24th.

I saw a bus that was taking the military to the war, stopped and asked to go with them! He said: “I also want to defend my Ukraine!”
The body of a warrior was buried under the temple
But it was not possible to properly sing the hero because of the “whims” of the local priest. They note that he simply did not let the body of the warrior into the temple.
The warrior was not allowed into the temple! The funeral had to be under the temple! For too many patriots gathered. “Father” Vitaly Durov denied that too many patriots had gathered and could bring the body of a warrior, and his “corpses” would be thrown out of the church along with the Moscow Patriarchate, Roman Grischuk wrote.
The society moved to the OCU, but they cannot drive the “father” away
According to him, the church community held a meeting 4 years ago and by an absolute majority of votes moved to the OCU, and the priest is in no hurry to obey the will of the people and the laws of Ukraine.
A priest with a dozen pro-Moscow sectarians barricaded the temple and did not let the community into his temple. Society wanted to peacefully solve the problem. There were many ships. Everything is in favor of the community and the WTO. But the laws of Ukraine are not a decree for the “father”, the Bible and morality too! Moscow said to stand to the last, – added Roman Grischuk.
He stressed that the pro-Russian priests literally “took the church hostage, put a lot of locks, put up an armored door, organized a constant watch, and the community has been praying on the street for 4 years.”
Roman Grischuk also noted that the priest of the UOC-MP Vitaly Durov did not recognize Russia as an aggressor even for 6 years of the war.
“There is something to talk about Durov with SBU specialists. Because even in the 6th year of the war he could not decide whether the Ukrainians were fighting among themselves, or someone attacked them anyway. And he could not agree that this Russia has attacked and it is the aggressor,” said Roman Grischuk, adding a video of a conversation with Vitaly Durov.

The local publication Molodoy Bukovynets writes that the religious community of the village of Zadubrovka, Chernivtsi district, proved in court in 2021 that the parish legally transferred to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. This is evidenced by the decision of the Zastavnovsky District Court.
The religious community in Zadubrovka was one of the first to join the WTO. The meeting took place at the beginning of 2019. After the charter was re-registered, the religious community of the WTO repeatedly reported that they were prevented from holding services in the church.
