Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will be able to convince Ukraine to provide macro-financial assistance worth €50 billion in 2024, since funds for his country depend on it.
French President Emmanuel Macron stated this, writes The Guardian.
The French leader is confident that Orban can be persuaded to accept a bailout package for Ukraine in 2024, since Orban's decision to block these funds meant that he also blocked funds for his own country, his neighbors and immigration border controls.

Macron also added that Orban promised not to block negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU if official Kiev implements the reforms proposed by Brussels by March next year.
– If these rules are followed, and I asked him a question, he told me that he would not block if this was the case. If the seven rules are met, then you should be able to open discussions, Macron said.
Aid to Ukraine from the EU
Recall that earlier the European Commission took the initiative to provide Ukraine with €50 billion, which will be allocated over five years. However, the decision must be unanimously approved by all 27 EU member states, and Hungarian Prime Minister Orban cast his veto.
Orban still threatened to disagree with the allocation of €50 billion to Ukraine and called on the EU to unfreeze frozen funds in the amount of €30 billion intended for Hungary.
At the same time, President of the European Council Charles Michel said that Ukraine will receive macro-financial assistance, despite the Hungarian veto.
