The total cost of a consignment of equipment from Metinvest is over UAH 10 million. The transfer of such a large number of UAVs to the Ground Forces is a record for Metinvest. In total, since February 24, 2022, Metinvest Group has already transferred more than 1,100 drones to various units of the state defense forces.

UAVs such as the DJI Mavic 3 are the “eyes” of Ukrainian soldiers, this is high-quality intelligence that saves lives. But, unfortunately, at the forefront, drones are consumables. That is why, since the beginning of the war, Metinvest Group, as part of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front military initiative, has focused its efforts on the continuous supply of drones to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” said Oleg Matvienko, head of military security at Metinvest Group.
He noted that no private business supplied such a quantity – more than 1,100 drones – to the army. Now Metinvest continues to increase assistance and plans to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with drones until victory.
Drones are lightweight, mobile equipment that is difficult for an enemy to detect with available means. They are in demand among the military due to the high intensity of hostilities, so this batch will be useful for the needs of several units of the Ground Forces at once, which perform tasks in the southern and eastern directions, in particular in Bakhmut, Avdiivka or Vugledar. Part of the drones will go to the defense forces defending the capital of Ukraine,” said Andrey Redozubov, captain of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Redozubov noted that Metinvest not only allocated funds, but also took care of the organization, logistics, search and delivery scarce appliances. According to him, this is a large amount of work, which greatly facilitates the task of the Armed Forces and allows them to focus on confronting the aggressor.

In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, Metinvest Group has provided support to the army for more than UAH 1.5 billion. In addition to drones, the company supplies the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the Main Intelligence Directorate and other defense forces with ammunition, including more than 150 thousand body armor, thermal imagers, cars, special mobile shelters and other equipment, which helps to resist the aggressor.
