Russian diplomat resigned and criticized Lavrov/getty images
Russian adviser to the UN in Geneva, Boris Bondarev, resigned and criticized pro-Putin policies, in particular, Lavrov.
Diplomat spoke out against the Russian war in Ukraine and said that he was ashamed of his country. He wrote about this in a letter of resignation, which was published by human rights activist, executive director of the UN watchdog group in Geneva, Hill Neuer.
I have never been so ashamed of my country, wrote a Russian diplomat.
The UN called on all other Russian diplomats in the United Nations and around the world to follow the moral example of Bondarev and resign.
