Ukrainian rowing champion Alsu Aleinikova provoked a loud scandal after publishing a video in which she boasted of plans to visit Dubai, and wished Ukrainians more Russian shelling and more hiding in shelters.

In a video that was published on the social network Instagram, Alsou Aleynikova humiliated the Ukrainians and wished the residents of her native Dnieper new Russian attacks.
— The day after tomorrow I will probably fly to Dubai. I’ll lie there, drink coconut, go shopping and feel great. And you will continue to sit in the war, hide in basements and suck paws, — stated the scandalous athlete.
In the released video, Alsou Aleynikova said that Ukrainians supposedly cannot influence anything, and they are “an empty place and do not decide anything”.

What the Ministry of Sports said
Acting Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Matvey Bedny expressed that he felt shame and disgust from watching the pitiful videos of one rower, probably hinting at Alsou Aleynikova.
— She signed her Instagram page: remember death (the quote was in Russian, — Ed.). But she seems to have forgotten about the death of Ukrainians. As well as about the death of Ukrainian defenders, thanks to whom this person can “live his best life”, — noted by Matvey Bedny.
He urged us to look at this case a little more broadly. In his opinion, for decades Ukraine has not paid significant attention to the formation of values related to civic and national identity among young people.

Alsu Aleynikova — this is the daughter of another rower Dina Miftakhutdinova, who won silver at the Olympic Games in 1996. Now the athlete’s mother is a deputy of the Dnepropetrovsk regional council.
