Despite skepticism from some partners about the F-16's ability to change the course of the war, the Ukrainian military is confident that American fighters will make a significant difference.
Air Force Speaker Yuri Ignat said this on the air of the United News telethon.
— I would like to argue with all the critics of this issue regarding airplanes. Airplanes will change the course of the war and change it very seriously. The question is that these aircraft do not have tactical and technical characteristics significantly weaker than Russian ones. We need modern aircraft that can gain an advantage in the air,” he said.
According to Ignat, the F-16 can strike ground, surface and air targets, as well as protect the state from missiles and drones. In addition, American fighters will help drive Russian aviation away and provide air cover for Ukrainian ground forces.

“I think that such aviation complexes, and a multi-purpose aircraft is an aviation complex, will solve a number of problems and can significantly influence the course of the war,” added the speaker of the Air Force.
Earlier it became known that training of Ukrainian pilots on the F-16 multirole fighters had already started in the United States.
