Vladimir Zelensky held a working meeting during his visit to Kharkiv region on May 29. We discussed the situation in the region and in Kharkiv.
The Ukrainian leader heard reports from Oleg Sinegubov, the head of the Kharkiv police department, and Igor Terekhov, the mayor of Kharkiv. Sinegubov said that as of May 29, 31% of the region was temporarily occupied. Ukrainian defenders and defenders have already liberated 5% of Kharkiv region from Russian invaders.
Sinegubov stressed that at present it is impossible to fully examine some settlements that have already been liberated from the invaders. Shelling continues there, preventing a full demining of the territories and the restoration of critical infrastructure.
At the same time, work continues. Where some processes can be carried out remotely, they do it.

- caused the destruction of 2229 multi-storey buildings;
- of them completely destroyed – 225 houses.
The northern and eastern districts of the city received the greatest damage. We are talking about 30.2% of the total housing stock.
New housing with bomb shelters
During a working trip to the Kharkiv region, Volodymyr Zelenskyy inspected destroyed housing in the Saltovsky district (Kharkiv). During the meeting, the Ukrainian leader voiced a proposal to analyze the feasibility of restoring damaged panel houses. In particular, it is necessary to take into account the program of thermal modernization of the housing stock.
