Russian aggression may spread to other states that are part of the USSR if Ukraine does not hold Russia. The Baltic countries and even Poland may be under threat.

Russia threatens Poland, the Baltic countries and Moldova

The President made the corresponding statement during a press conference with the Prime Minister of Luxembourg Vladimir Zelensky, Channel 24 reports.

According to him, in order to understand the imperial goals of Russia, one can draw conclusions from the public statements of representatives of the Russian authorities.

The head of state drew attention to Russia's threats against Lithuania. The Kremlin accuses Lithuania of blocking the transit of goods and, as Zelensky emphasized, threatens to “leave to unblock”.

The President of Ukraine stressed that he had previously stated that Russia would not stop on Ukrainian territory, “because territory of the former Soviet Union as one's own”.

Therefore, we understand that if our state does not withstand such pressure, then after us our other neighbors or other former Soviet republics may be under the threat of Russian attack,” the head of state said.

He added that from the Russian authorities and close circle of Vladimir Putin, threats are heard not only against the Baltic countries, but also towards Poland, Moldova and Georgia. Parts of the territories of the last two countries, Zelensky noted, are still under occupation by Russia.

Russia openly threatens Lithuania

  • Russia did not stop at aggression against Ukraine and openly threatens Western countries. Not so long ago, the Kremlin threatened Western partners because they provide Ukraine with heavy weapons. In addition, the so-called “denazification” of Poland was announced in Russia.
  • In June, Russia sent threats against Lithuania. This is because the Lithuanian railway stopped the transit of a number of Russian goods subject to EU sanctions to Kaliningrad.
  • Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that “this is a violation of everyone and everything”, and called Lithuania's actions are illegal. Sharper in his threats was Andrey Klimov, head of the Federation Council Commission for the Protection of Sovereignty, who said that Russia “will untie its hands to resolve the issue of transit by any means.”
  • EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Josep Borrell stated that the accusation of Russia is a lie and pure propaganda. He stressed that there is no blockade from Lithuania.
