The corresponding statement by Vladimir Zelensky came against the backdrop of numerous Russian provocations towards the Baltic countries. He voiced it in an interview for Central Asian media.

The Ukrainian leader believes that the Baltic countries – Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia – are most likely to face a potential strike from the Kremlin today. He noted that he had already warned our state’s partners regarding this threat.

In the meantime, as the president explained, there is information that Russia’s priorities and immediate goals include the Baltic countries, Moldova, as well as Kazakhstan.

Invasion is inevitable

He also addressed Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, noting that mostly Russia is simply you need a reason to start aggression, and only then there will be an occupation of some of the regions.

According to him, if someone resists joining Russia, then he will inevitably a full-scale invasion awaits, and, accordingly, death and war that the invaders will cause.

The latest provocations from Russia: what is known about it

  • On May 21, a so-called order on “unilateral border changes” with Lithuania and Finland in the Baltic Sea appeared on the Russian government website. The initiative was submitted by the Kremlin Ministry of Defense, but after publicity the document disappeared from the website.
  • Later, namely on May 23, Estonia announced that Russian border guards had removed the buoys installed on the Estonian half River Narva. Because of the incident, Charge d'Affaires of Russia Lenar Salimullin was summoned to the Foreign Ministry.
