According to Peter Pavel, victory has a different form. In particular, Russia has several tactical successes, since it was able to capture parts of the territory of Ukraine, but the advance of the occupiers occurs only because of great sacrifices and losses.
The Czech President is convinced that this is too high a price to pay for the seizure of land.
He noted that the Ukrainian defense is currently successful due to the enormous damage it has inflicted on Russian troops.
“They are capable of holding positions, especially in places that are important for Ukraine. If the war continues in the same spirit, it will last for years. This state of affairs is unacceptable for everyone,” emphasized Petr Pavel.
This is why, he explained, Europe is trying to support Ukraine during the war and demonstrate to Russia that there is no victory on the battlefield.
At the same time, countries are trying to exert maximum diplomatic, political, economic and financial influence on Russia so that the aggressor country understands that a solution can only be found at the negotiating table, and not on the battlefield, the Czech President summed up.
