Russia wants to send Syrian mercenaries to fight in Ukraine/Channel 24 collage

Bloomberg reported that Russia may illegally bring Syrians to continue the war against Ukraine. It is also known that a merchant ship was sent from Syria to Russia with the help of Turkey, on which military vehicles were seen. The story with the Syrian volunteers may turn out to be the same as it was with 100,000 North Korean mercenaries. Oleksandr Kovalenko, military-political observer of the Information Resistance group, said this to channel 24.

He believes that if Syrian mercenaries really come to fight against Ukraine, this will be a problem primarily for Russia.

“The Russian command must understand this. If we talk about the lack of human resources, then Russia now lacks the militaryto fully engage in combat. They even use resources from Russian prisons,” says Kovalenko.

According to him, Russian jailers are not professional soldiers, they are so-called cannon fodder.

But if we talk about the Syrians, then these mercenaries of Bashar al-Assad work professionally even worse than convicts from Russian prisons. There will also be a language barrier with the Russian military, the expert says.

In addition, Russia will be forced to supply the Syrians with equipment and weapons. “Therefore, it causes a lot of problems. I'm not sure that Russia will go for it,” he added.

Kovalenko assured that if Russia does go for it, it will mean that she is so critically desperate that her end is pretty close .

He also explained that if Turkey is involved in this, then it will be a big problem for Ankara. Many NATO countries are already asking what position Trecchina takes in this conflict.

Ankara is trying to take a pro-Ukrainian position at the diplomatic level, supplying us with weapons, in particular bayraktors and armored vehicles, but on the other hand, it continues to “flirt” with Russia, the expert replied.

In this case, Kovalenko does not exclude that certain measures will be taken against Turkey at the international level.

By the way, the ship “Sparta II” brought military vehicles from the Syrian port of Tartus, which is used by Russia. It is noted that the Russian vessel, on which the United States imposed sanctions, made the journey without interference from NATO member Turkey.

What kind of weapons were on the ship is unknown. He was seen in Syria with vehicles in the hold, and was also seen crossing the Bosphorus and was later seen in Novorossiysk with at least 11 vehicles.
