In the first two weeks of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the EU, Viktor Orbán met with Putin, Xi Jinping and Donald Trump. These trips by the politician allegedly took place as part of the search for peace. It is known that the EU did not provide a mandate for such travel.

The Italian Prime Minister, who made the network laugh with her look at her Hungarian colleague during the NATO Summit, commented on Orban's diplomatic voyage.

There is nothing wrong

Giorgia Meloni said that if Orban's meetings with the leaders of Russia and China, as well as the US presidential candidate, could bring some glimmer of peace and diplomacy, she would not see anything wrong with them. However, the problem is that Moscow does not want negotiations. According to Meloni, with the blow to the hospital in Kyiv, Putin clearly indicated his lack of desire to conduct a dialogue about peace.

Earlier, the German Foreign Ministry expressed dissatisfaction with the behavior of Prime Minister Orban. They noted that during the 12 days of its presidency of the EU Council, Hungary did a lot of harm.

Recall that the EU criticized Orban’s visits to Moscow and Beijing. They are thinking about how to punish Hungary. Options include boycotting meetings and even depriving Budapest of the EU Council presidency.
