IDPs: payments from July 1

The government has extended payments for internally displaced persons until September 2025.

Now watching

According to the National Social Service of Ukraine, people who have already received assistance will have an automatic extension of the IDP payment. For this reason, there is no need to submit an additional application.

As the government noted, this decision is part of the Winter Support program. It combines various types of assistance.

People who apply for the first time can obtain a certificate of internally displaced person and apply for financial assistance for the entire family through the Diia app.

Eligibility for IDP payments can be confirmed by submitting documents through the CPSU or social protection agency if the family does not meet the criteria due to income level, availability of deposits or additional housing.

Rental subsidy for IDPs

In Ukraine, there is a mechanism to support internally displaced persons – a housing rental subsidy.

This is why a lease agreement is needed to prevent unlawful evictions or sudden increases in housing costs.

The state is ready to compensate for personal income tax, single tax and military tax for homeowners who rent their property to our migrants.

To apply for a rental subsidy, IDPs and the owner of the property must complete documents, in particular provide a rental agreement, sign an application for a subsidy and compensation for part of the taxes.

In some cases, scanned copies of documents may be required. For example, that a person is a legal representative, or a court decision is required.

These documents should be submitted to the Pension Fund of Ukraine. This can be done both physically and online. After that, within 10 days, a decision will be made on the assignment of a subsidy and its amount.

The IDP will receive payments monthly to his card account. They will be calculated taking into account social standards.

At the same time, the owner of the property will receive quarterly compensation for taxes based on the social cost of rent.

Prikhistok program for IDPs

At the same time, Ukraine has a state program called Prihistok. It provides payments to homeowners who accommodate internally displaced persons.

According to the National Social Service of Ukraine, the amount of payment for IDPs is 450 UAH per month for each person accommodated.

Payments are granted for six months with the possibility of automatic renewal after verification of compliance with certain criteria.

The National Social Service noted that currently the appointment of payments under the Prihistok program is carried out by the bodies of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

For this reason, such payments to Ukrainians who have already submitted an application will continue automatically without additional application.

Persons who apply for such payments for the first time since the beginning of the year must submit an application to the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

Temporary accommodation project for IDPs

At the same time, a pilot project is being implemented in Ukraine to provide temporary accommodation and support to internally displaced persons in difficult life circumstances.

This right is enjoyed by elderly IDPs and persons with disabilities who have moved from areas of active military action or temporarily occupied regions, the National Social Service of Ukraine reports.

In particular, shelter, supported housing, residential care and social adaptation services can be obtained from state-owned non-profit enterprises.

Among them are the Truskavets sanatorium Rodina and the Mirgorod sanatorium Slava, which fall under the management of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.
