“It could be February, and I would really like it to be February.” “I was ready for December 23, but since Fury was injured and knocked down, his (fight – Ed. ) will be postponed to next year,” Usyk said.
The Usyk-Fury fight was scheduled for December 23, but due to the fact that the Briton received a cut in the fight with Francis Ngannou, and also because he will need more time to recover, the fight was postponed.
Recently, the British promoter Frank Warren stated that the fight would take place before March 2. Warren said the exact fight date will be announced “pretty soon.”
At stake in the Usyk-Fury fight will be four championship belts and the title of absolute world champion. The parties' contract stipulates a rematch.
