I won't leave my country: Zelensky explained whether he will run for a second term if elections are held- 2024

During martial law, Ukraine has no legal right to hold elections. However, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that he was ready to make changes to the current legislation.

The head of state said this in response to a question from foreign journalists whether he would run for a second term if elections were held in 2024. Zelensky did not give a direct answer, but stressed that he was not going to leave the country during the war.

— In 2024, if the war continues and elections take place, I will never leave my country in my life, — says the President.

He said he was not afraid to lose the election. In his opinion, they should be held entirely on the territory of Ukraine, so that the military and citizens who are abroad have the opportunity to vote.

— We cannot take away their voice. I want everything to be legal and transparent, like in the previous elections, — says Zelensky.

The risks of Russian attacks and the need to protect polling stations also remain open, according to the president.
