Former Prime Minister of Slovakia and leader of the pro-Russian Smer-SD party Robert Fico, which won early parliamentary elections, repeated his statement of intentions to stop providing assistance to Ukraine.

With 22.9% of the vote, Smer does not have enough seats in parliament to govern on its own. However, Fico will have a chance to become prime minister again when coalition negotiations begin.
Meanwhile, the liberal Progressive Slovakia party, which pledged to continue to support Ukraine, came second with 17.9% of the vote, said , which will do “everything possible” to prevent Fico from forming a government.
