On August 1, a major prisoner exchange took place between Russia and Western countries. Among the released Kremlin prisoners are 3 Americans, 5 Germans, and 8 Russians.

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the Kremlin had to release political prisoners, since the politician wanted a different fate for them – for them to “rot in prison.”

Thus, Medvedev, commenting on the exchange, noted that he wanted “traitors to Russia to rot in prison or die in prison, as often happened.”

At the same time, the official noted that, supposedly, “it is more useful to extract our own, who worked for the country, for the Motherland, for all of us”, and “let the traitors now feverishly pick new names and actively disguise themselves under the witness protection program.”

Recall that Moscow returned 8 of its citizens, among them FSB officer Krasikov, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of a Chechen commander in Germany, and the Dultsev spouses, who were detained for espionage in Slovenia.
