President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on Russian military atrocities in Bucha. According to the head of state, after the Russians in Bucha there is complete death.
Zelensky: Imagine that you are coming to a ghost town
Zelensky spoke about the tragedy in Bucha as part of the 60 Minutes program on the American CBS television channel. “Death. Just death,” the president replied to a question about what he saw in Bucha after the occupation.
Zelensky said that, as president, he saw many tragedies, including a flood, an Iranian plane crash in January 2020 and the coronavirus pandemic.
I saw everything, but there was life in it all. Because I saw people fighting,” Zelensky said.
According to him, after the flood, people were left without houses, but even joked with him. As he noted, this was life.
As for Buchi, “there was death here.” Zelensky said that there were no people in Bucha after the Russian troops retreated.
“Imagine that you come to a ghost town … Because tens of thousands of people lived there. It is a small city within Ukraine, USA or Great Britain,” he said.
President: There is no sound on the street
Zelensky said that when he arrived in the city, only 300 people were in line for humanitarian aid .
Imagine, tens of thousands of people, but you see 300! You see death because the streets are empty, burned Russian equipment, Ukrainian… Ordinary cars of ordinary people. And the streets where this death is, – said the president.
He also said that he saw a lot of human bodies in Bucha on the streets and in the courtyards of houses.
“It looks scary. It and there is death. There is no sound. The sound is only from us. That is, there is no sound on the street that we are used to. The car is not moving, the child is not screaming, no one is honking,” the president summed up.
