Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, at a press conference held in North Macedonia after a meeting in the format of the OSCE Council of Ministers, was rude to the journalist in his usual manner. Moreover, he demanded that she “quote him correctly.”

A Deutsche Welle journalist tried to clarify with Lavrov whether Russia was going to leave the OSCE. However, in response she heard only the rudeness of the Russian minister, Channel 24 reports.

How Lavrov avoided answering questions and was rude to journalists

At a December 1 press conference in Skopje, North Macedonia, Lavrov once again avoided questions. Yes, the journalist asked whether Russia plans to leave the OSCE, because the minister stated that “the organization will soon collapse” and supposedly “there is no future.”

Lavrov demanded that he be “quoted correctly.” The Russian minister said that he allegedly said that he “doesn’t care how the OSBE meeting ends.” After that, he began to be rude to the journalist in the traditional manner.

I don’t know where you received your journalism education. You asked the question: “Do we plan to leave the organization.” I said: “Quote me correctly,” Lavrov became hysterical.

Moreover, he began to say that “in Germany it is customary for government members to tell journalists what they should write.” To shame the correspondent, Lavrov cited Russian journalists as an example. He said that Russia supposedly “respects” them and “leaves them room for imagination in how they will present the results of the press conference.”

  • The Russian minister also made a speech at the meeting. However, they listened to him reluctantly, and the Ukrainian delegation, as well as representatives of other countries, for example, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipovsky, could not withstand the flow of nonsense and staged a demarche. The Russian minister, who noticed that the hall was emptying during his speech, began to snap and asked to be “left alone.”
  • There were discussions among officials about expelling the terrorist country from the OSCE. However, North Macedonian Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani subsequently said that “the discussion is over” as there are now “legal and political arguments” from the participating states.
