Hungary may be excluded from the EU: Davydyuk called the consequences of Orban's friendship with Putin

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban toyed with his friendship with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. His actions can cost Budapest very dearly.

This Channel 24 was told by political scientist Mykola Davidyuk. According to him, there are already rumors that Hungary should be kicked out of the European Union. In particular, representatives of Finland spoke about this at closed diplomatic meetings.

They compare that Ukraine has a number of different requirements that Kyiv must fulfill. Hungary follows virtually none of these.

Finland has been talking about this at closed diplomatic meetings for a long time. They block the movement of Ukraine, so can we throw out Hungary then? Hungary does not meet the requirements of the EU, Davidyuk noted.

As the political scientist emphasized, Hungary can be called a federal entity of Russia, which still has the Stockholm syndrome. Indeed, after the 2nd World War, the country suffered greatly from the Soviet Union.

Orban can be partially considered a participant in the war against Ukraine

Davidiuk was outraged by Orban's recent statement that Hungary is on the peaceful side. This is an extremely cynical stuffing, because with one foot he takes money from the European Commission, and with the other he earns on Putin's corruption flows.

I'll say more. The occupation of the ZNPP is a weapon that Putin and Orban use to blackmail the EU. So, they want to put into operation the nuclear power plant that Putin is building on the territory of Hungary. Orban plays like a mobster trying to lobby for this to bring the Rosatom station into his territory. He is half a participant in this war. Only attacks from another front. He also has interests in Transcarpathia,” Davidyuk noted.

According to him, the EU has long been thinking about reforms so that one country does not block the decisions of 30 other states. This is logical. After all, a person who, they say, received a powerful gas contract from Russia, cannot block all decisions.

Under this contract, 30 dollars, and some say about 100 dollars per cube, goes to Orban's personal offshore. Why should the EU suffer from someone who started earning from 30 to 100 dollars per cubic meter, Davidyuk emphasized.

In his opinion, Orban, together with Hungary, is now on the way to exclusion from the EU. Moreover, instead of 10 million citizens of Hungary, the EU will receive 40 million Ukrainians.

But whether Hungary will be squeezed is already a question. After all, everything will depend on Germany, for which Hungary is a certain sales market. But if Berlin wants to be the leader of the EU, it must resolve the Hungarian issue.

Orban's behavior during Zelensky's visit

  • On the morning of February 9, President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Brussels, where he delivered a speech powerful speech in the European Parliament.
  • Viktor Orban was also there. He tried to defiantly ignore Volodymyr Zelensky.
  • Subsequently, Orban noted on social networks that Hungary was in the peace camp. He was immediately accused of hypocrisy.
