On the eve of the EU summit on December 14-15, where Ukraine expects a truly historic decision to open formal negotiations on accession to the European Union, Hungary is threatening to block it.
The head of the Center for Military Legal Studies, Alexander Musienko, explained whether Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will hinder the start of negotiations between Ukraine and the European Union.
– I think not. Because Orban has demonstrated that he is, in fact, negotiable. He said that there is a certain cost to the issue. How much he wanted: €10-11 billion for Hungary from the EU. Everything is very simple. Held consultations with Viktor Orban and Hungarian politicians.
And there it was announced that Hungary needs more help, subsidies, support for certain economic schemes: agriculture, infrastructure, etc. It was announced that Hungary is ready, under certain conditions, if they do not forget about Budapest, to provide funds and support,” Musienko noted.
According to the expert, Hungarian “sentiments” towards the Russian Federation really raise many doubts. However, he believes that the room for maneuver has not been completely exhausted.

– It’s actually difficult, because these sentiments are towards the Kremlin, conversations, trips, meetings, like the Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjártó with various Russian figures.
