The government explained the procedure for confiscation of Russian property/Channel 24 Collage
The government has made an important decision regarding the confiscation of Russian property and assets in Ukraine. The seized will be transferred to the benefit of the state and the Ukrainian people.

Prime Minister Denis Shmihal spoke about the confiscation procedure at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers during the discussion of the agenda. Channel 24 gives details.
How Russian property will be confiscated in Ukraine
Denis Shmigal noted that the confiscation of Russian property and assets on the territory of Ukraine is a systemically important decision. The list of these objects has already been formed – hundreds of buildings , corporate rights, land and financial assets.
The Prime Minister explained that all this Russian property is divided into three separate categories.
- property owned directly by the Russian state;
- assets owned sanctioned citizens and companies of Russia;
- assets of Russian banks.
Thus, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the Decree of the President of Ukraine, according to which it is proposed to confiscate a total of 903 belonging to the Russian object state 79 positionsconcerning corporate rights, as well as 824 units of property.
As promised, we are taking away all these assets for the benefit of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. We do it systematically and in accordance with all procedures . We are not replacing the law with our desire, but we are implementing this strategic task in a legal way,” Shmihal stressed.
The head of the Ukrainian government noted that the confiscated Russian assets would be converted into funds, which would be directed to defense of Ukraine and the restoration of our state.
The Prime Minister stressed that this is only the first step in this direction, and the next step should be confiscation of Russian assets in Western countries to restore Ukraine. The official convinces that the government and the Office of the President are working on this today together with teams of the best lawyers, international experts, partners and allies of our state.
