How to protect Kharkiv and Nikolaev from Russian missiles: Kirichevsky on important actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

by alex

Russian invaders are systematically shelling Nikolaev and Kharkov. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are doing everything to stop the shelling of front-line settlements.

This Channel 24 was told by Defense Express expert Ivan Kirichevsky. According to him, it is possible to counter the shelling of Kharkov and Nikolaev step by step.

As Kirichevsky noted, now the Armed Forces of Ukraine are effectively destroying the enemy's air defenses in the southern direction.

The Bayraktars are again used there as a strike weapon that enemy air defense cannot counteract. The methodical work on the destruction of Russian artillery is already beginning, – the Defense Express expert said. and will continue to be done in stages.

  • Ukrainian MiG-29s and other attack aircraft will still “work” with HARM missiles against enemy air defenses.
  • After that, the sky will be cleared so that our defenders will be able to move on to a direct task, for which created systems such as Bayraktar. We are talking about the fact that attack drones will begin to methodically destroy the MLRS, from which the Russians fire at Nikolaev.

The same algorithm, according to the Defense Express expert, can be implemented in Kharkiv.

How to protect cities from S-300 missiles

Kirichevsky added that for the time being the enemy considers it expedient to also hit Nikolaev and Kharkov with the help of the Soviet S-300 air defense systems, which were converted in order to strike at ground targets.

But for the S-300, we have another argument – the same HARMs, – the Defense Express expert emphasized.

Recall that Ukraine has upgraded MiG-29 fighters for American missiles AGM-88 HARM. These are high-speed anti-radar missiles with a launch range of 150 km. Such missiles are capable of effectively destroying the radar system and essentially “blinding” the enemy.
