How to get social benefits in the occupied territories/Channel 24
Due to the war, many Ukrainians ended up in the territories occupied by Russia. They received social benefits. Now, due to the occupation, there are problems with this.
About 300 thousand people remained in the occupied territories, receiving social payments from the state. We are talking about low-income people, people with disabilities, large families, pensioners, etc. About half a billion hryvnias are transferred for social payments. Such data was announced by the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Maryna Lazebna on the air of the United News telethon, Channel 24 reports.
“Despite the war, we remain a welfare state. We have not reduced any social benefits, despite the fact that the economy is shrinking. We continue to finance 100 percent of all social benefits, regardless of the territory where either the pensioner lives or the person who received social benefits. Even if a person has moved abroad,” Marina Lazebna assured.
How to receive payments in the occupied territories
The minister noted that despite all the payments made by the state, there is a problem with the ability of people use funds in the temporarily occupied territory.
“If a person remains in the occupied territory, then we have a centralized accrual mechanism, because the authorities do not work there. Therefore, we count everything at the central level,” Marina Lazebna said.
For example, if a person received funds in the bank account, then he will continue to do so. If she received the funds with the help of Ukrposhta, then it all depends on whether the postman can safely reach this person.
“We have created two mechanisms. If the mail does not work, then the person opens an account with Sberbank by default, and his pension is saved. The second is a mirror algorithm – if the bank does not work, then the mail should find this person and convey his pension to him,” – the minister said.
Social payments after evacuation
Marina Lazebna said that now the task of the state is to protect a person so that he can be evacuated from the occupied territory. After all, then it will be much easier for a person to receive their funds.
“We then use all the algorithms so that her payment reaches her, wherever she is,” Marina Lazebnaya assured.
< p> In order to receive your funds from an open account with Sberbank, it is enough to come there with your passport and identification code. And after confirming the identity, receive your payment. If the payment is made through “Ukrposhta”, then you should call the “hot line”. There, report where the person received payments before, indicate their new location. And the money will flow there.
