A demonstrative meeting on the defense state order was held (Belarus – Channel 24), during which many interesting things were said.
Ukrainian lessons
In particular, about the lessons of the Ukrainian conflict, how to equip a modern army, what role logistics, fuel, mobility, etc. play. The fact that it is the Ukrainian lessons that are being analyzed was stated directly. There was no talk about whose army's results are taken as a model.
However, the fact that it is the Russian troops that do not achieve their goals today is an open secret. Therefore, almost everyone agreed: if the Belarusian armed forces are now looking at someone else's experience, then this experience is Ukrainian.
In the wake of what has been said, I would like to say the following. Logistics, petrol-kerosene, caimans and mobility are all great. It should be. However, with regard to the success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, all world military experts noted their main factor, which was not mentioned. Tactical literacy and Western-style command and control system based on decentralization.
Incomprehensible for dictatorships
Decentralization at the tactical level has proven to be a key factor in modern warfare. When officers and soldiers can and, most importantly, know how to make decisions on the ground based on the real situation. Named (by the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko – Channel 24) mobility is an empty phrase without such an approach rooted in the army, since any mobility will come to naught if each platoon waits for the decision of the general in the capital.
It is impossible to imagine such a thing either in the army of Russia, or in the army of Belarus, or in the army of the USSR who died in the bose. This is understandable: the Soviet Union (and the armies of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus are its direct heirs) fought at a time when the level of technology, informatization, troop maneuverability and the possibility of their weapons were much lower.
Lower speed – more the role is not of accuracy, but of volume. These are the basic conditions under which decisions on the ground and initiative are not needed, but only an iron order is needed. Today's war turned out to be fundamentally different.
And do you know what the problem is? The fact is that under the current scenarios, neither Belarus, nor Russia, nor North Korea, the prospect of creating a competitive army simply does not shine. Because this is, in principle, a different reality: in it you need to appreciate a person, teach him, rely on his knowledge and intellect, that is, deal not with a “unit of manpower”, but with a person. This is something that is impossible to imagine in the armed forces of authoritarian and totalitarian states, which in their armies, on the contrary, are trying to “beat the crap out of everyone”.
The truth that buried the “scoop”
This experience exposes the problem in a more global context. Right now, in Russian propaganda, the plot is very popular, they say, the West has achieved its prosperity only thanks to “cheap” resources from the Russian Federation. And now they will be deprived of them and “we ourselves will build our well-being on our own resources.”
Back in the days of the collapse of the USSR, all the intelligentsia lamented that the United States achieved its power solely due to the “brain drain” – the emigration of the most talented and intelligent people to their country. The trend was already obvious then and even more obvious now: resource states, betting on their natural resources, for the most part remain backward and extremely unfavorable for the life of most ordinary citizens.
For a very banal reason: it is not coal or oil that creates prosperity – people create it. And development today is not achieved in the conditions of the predominance of people with low human capital in the conditions of the wholesale departure of people with high. The evidence of this truth has long been clear.
The verdict announced by Ukraine
No one will argue that the standard of living in Russia is lower than in Switzerland. However, until recently there was a myth: “But we have a strong army, we eat like pi ****, all of a sudden!”. The events in Ukraine also dispel this picture, and all such kings remain naked.
The modern world is such that neither in everyday life nor in war can anything be decided without intelligence. Without intelligence, you can beat people with clubs or shoot civilians, but you can't win battles or build civilizations. An authoritarian state is incapable by its nature of relying on the intellect and good will of man. Consequently, such states simply have no future.
