How the Russian Army recruits residents of Transnistria: a Moldovan journalist was interviewed

by alex

Rallies were held in Chisinau criticizing Moldovan President Maia Sandu and for the resignation of the government. At the same time, a military assembly began in the self-proclaimed republic of Transnistria, to which all men of military age are invited. Probably, Tiraspol is preparing for the aggravation of the situation, forming a certain reserve.

RISE Moldova journalist Vladimir Tkhorik told Channel 24 about this. According to him, this is a common practice for Transnistria when reservists are called to some kind of meeting. However, the indignation of official Moldova causes something else.

3 armed formations in Transnistria

In the self-proclaimed republic, where 500 thousand people live, there are conditionally 3 armed formations:

  • the so-called Russian “peacekeepers”, who, together with the Moldovan, and earlier with the Ukrainian ones, guard the security zone along the Dniester River;
  • the grouping of the Russian army, which is part of the Western Military District, which is now smashing cities in eastern Ukraine to pieces;
  • the army of Transnistria – a separatist, unrecognized by anyone, even Russia, state. Reservists are invited to this army.

“In Pridnestrovie, reservists are regularly called to some kind of meeting. But the official authorities of Chisinau are indignant at the annual phenomenon when Russian officers recruit residents of Moldova into the ranks of the Russian army stationed in Pridnestrovie,” the journalist stressed.

Everyone who wants to be recruited into the army of Transnistria

He noted that everyone is recruited into the Russian army of Transnistria, even without military specialties.

I decided to call the phone on the ads that are posted on the streets – on poles, public transport stops, etc. – and found out that the salary in such an army is offered 600 dollars, – said Thorik.

He added that compared to contractors in the Russian army who receive $2,000, this amount is small. But for Transnistria, this is good money.

In a conversation with recruiters, I introduced myself as a resident of the city of Balti, located in the Right-Bank Moldova. He said that I have Russian citizenship and that I want to join the Russian army. He said that he worked in Europe in construction, – the journalist noted.

According to him, in half an hour he passed the interview and they were ready to take him literally in a couple of weeks into the ranks of the Russian army in Transnistria.

According to the scenario of Russia – the occupation of Moldova

He also stressed that he also talked with relatives of those who serve under contract in the Russian army. They said that all recruits are “tempted” with things like food to take home.

From this we can conclude that they are recruiting representatives of not low-income strata of the population, – the journalist emphasized.

He explained that in the Russian army in Pridnestrovie, not entirely peaceful positions are accepted – a sniper, a grenade launcher, a scout. Such “specialists” can also be saboteurs, in the event of the advance of a contingent of Russian troops through the Odessa region into Transnistria.

“There was such information before that Russia was going to make a military corridor across the Gulf towards Transnistria. Such a scenario was considered by Moldovan curators from the FSB as part of their plans to occupy Moldova,” Vladimir Tkhorik said.

The situation around Transnistria: important

  • Speaker of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko said that Ukraine is still strengthening the direction on the borders with Moldova. According to him, not only are the units being reinforced, but all the necessary engineering and fortification work is being carried out so that the Defense Forces can carry out all the necessary measures while in this direction.
  • Reserve Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Svitan believes that Ukraine can help Moldova defend itself against Russia. He noted that in order to expel the so-called army of Transnistria or destroy it, Moldova can turn to the Ukrainian troops, to the Ukrainian military-political leadership.
  • Military expert Alexei Getman stressed that Russia could be preparing a coup in Moldova in order to take ammunition out of Transnistria. He added that the weapons and ammunition stored in Transnistria are quite old, but they fit the weapons used in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
