How Putin might see the end of the war: a political scientist named possible scenarios Angela Figin

Vladimir Putin has different options for ending the war in Ukraine. However, the problem is that he has scenario plans, but the United States of America has not yet shown a realistic plan to end the war.

Political scientist Vladimir Fesenko told Channel 24 about this. He noted that wars do not always end with a complete victory for one of the parties – there are different options. For example, in World War II, one party lost, in particular Japan, but Tokyo still has not given up its claims to the Southern Kuril Islands.

How Putin's demands may change

The simplest option for ending the war is a ceasefire, which can also be called a truce or freezing the conflict. By the way, China and some other countries had similar ideas.

We are talking about ending hostilities along a certain front line. This is possibly the only compromise option for ending the war. Those who say that Putin does not want this rely on official statements by Russian leaders, the political scientist said.

The range of Putin's demands may vary depending on the circumstances. The dictator wants at least a partial capitulation of Ukraine, or an end to the war based on unilateral concessions from Ukraine. The extent of these concessions depends on how successful Russia's military actions will be, whether the Russian army will be able to continue its offensive.

If Trump thinks that Russia will have enough, and such thoughts really are there, to simply offer Putin Ukraine's refusal to join NATO, a gradual reduction in the lifting of sanctions, then I think this is a big mistake, Fesenko noted.

Putin must be forced to stop military actions and at least agree to a ceasefire. Achieving peace through diplomacy is unlikely. However, the situation may change. In the case of Russia, there is no need to think that the Kremlin will fight to the end and endlessly.

By the way, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken believes that a ceasefire will give Putin's troops time to regroup in order to attack Ukraine again.
