President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky reported that in 53 exchanges more than three thousand Ukrainians were returned from Russian captivity.
– 53 exchanges. 3310 our people who are already at home in Ukraine, next to their relatives,” the president wrote on his page on the social network X.
He also noted that work continues and the search for ways to free each and every — all Ukrainian military and civilians, adults and children.
In particular, President Zelensky thanked everyone who is helping to return Ukrainians home.
Recall that on June 25, Ukraine managed to return home another 90 citizens from Russian captivity – these are 32 National Guardsmen, 18 border guards, 17 representatives of the Navy, 15 Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers and 8 Teroboron members.
Subsequently, on June 28, Vladimir Zelensky announced that Ukraine managed to return 10 more citizens from Russian captivity.
Among them — deputy head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Nariman Jelal, captured in Crimea back in 2021.
Thus, on June 28, the 53rd exchange was completed, which began on June 25 with the release of 90 defenders.
In total, within the framework of the 53rd exchange, 100 citizens of Ukraine were returned home.
