NMT-2025 in Mathematics: what percentage failed the test
Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovoy noted that even in war conditions, applicants from all corners of the country, including frontline regions, show high motivation, responsibility and worthy results.
The largest number of 200-point students is currently in mathematics. The best results of the NMT in mathematics were received by 1,163 people. Next come English – 765, and Ukrainian – 658. A total of 2,414 participants received the maximum in at least one subject. Among them:
- 250 people passed two subjects with 200 points,
- 31 participants – three subjects,
- Three applicants received maximum scores in four subjects.
If you are interested in how many participants failed the NMT in mathematics in 2025, then we are talking about approximately 11.7% (in 2024 it was 14%).
Among the elective subjects, the most difficult were physics (10% of participants failed), chemistry (6%) and Spanish (4.5%). Due to the small number of people willing to take these subjects, the assessment system is sensitive to each result.
317,083 participants registered for NMT-2025, more than last year. Of these, 236,529 are this year's graduates. The rest are those who decided to return to study after a break.
The number of those registered abroad remains stable, which indicates an interest in continuing their education in Ukraine.
Where can applicants who failed the NMT-2025 apply?
The Ministry of Education and Science emphasizes that those who have not passed the threshold scores for individual subjects can still enroll in professional colleges or vocational schools.
The state especially needs specialists in the fields of construction, agriculture, technical specialties and medical care – these areas will be key in the process of restoring the country.
NMT-2025 will last until July 25, including an additional session. Participants who were unable to pass the test for valid reasons will have another opportunity to take the NMT, choose an educational trajectory and take advantage of state support – a budget place or an educational grant to compensate for the cost of education.
