How many border guards from Serpentine are still in captivity

by alex

On the first day of a full-scale war, Russia captured 80 military and civilians on Zmein. Some of them are still in captivity.

This was told by the head of the State Border Service of Ukraine Serhiy Deyneko.

“At that time, only 80 defenders of Ukraine and civilians were captured, 28 of them were border guards. Now 12 have been fired, 16 are still in captivity. Unfortunately, we cannot influence these lists in any way. Russia gives whoever it wants. No logic I don’t see. There are people who have been in captivity since the first day of the war,” Deineko said.

Legendary phrase about a Russian ship

One of the border guards uttered the already legendary phrase about the Russian ship. Deineko posted the image with the quote in his office.

“This picture has been hanging from the first day. I said that I would take it off after our victory, or let the one who will change me in this chair, if he can do it, take it down,” the head of the State Border Service said.

The authorship of the phrase about the cruiser “Moscow” was attributed to different people. At first, they noted that a Marine had sent “Moscow” and even called his name. However, later it turned out that the author was a border guard. Deineko explained why this confusion occurred.

Look, the greatest value for me is a human life. I'll start with the last question, why the country doesn't know a hero. The fact is that in relation to this guy, who may have committed a hooligan act, there are certain moments of security.

And I have an agreement with him that until they decide, I will not do anything that would put his safety in doubt,” Deineko said.

He assured that the radio channel belonged to the border guards. Consequently, no representative of other services could use it.

What's going on on Serpentine

Natalya Gumenyuk, press secretary of OK Yug, said that on February 14, those trying to conduct reconnaissance at Zmeinoye Oni fired at it with Oniks anti-ship missiles. Gumenyuk assured that the landing of Russian troops on Zmein is impossible.

“They will not be able to hold on to such a small piece of land without the support of a fearful and hidden fleet and other units that are not around,” the speaker explained.
