Russia is attacking Ukrainian cities with Iranian kamikaze drones. The enemy uses especially many such devices in the south of Ukraine.

About this Channel 24said the speaker of the Odesa OVA Sergey Bratchuk. According to him, enemy kamikaze drones often fly into the Odessa region.

However, they are successfully “greeted “Ukrainian air defense forces.

Our guys hit drones and shoot them down over the sea. In the Odessa region over the past few days, there have been no arrivals of kamikaze drones,” Bratchuk said.

According to him, on Tuesday, October 11, the remnants of the downed Shahed-136 washed up on the seashore.

Danger of Iranian drones

Despite the fact that such drones can be successfully eliminated, they cause trouble for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a representative of the Odessa OVA noted, Iranian devices have 2 dangerous characteristics.

  • Kamikaze drones carry powerful ammunition – we are talking about almost 50 kilograms of explosives. Therefore, when it hits the target, a strong blast wave is generated.
  • Such devices fly low over the ground , so they are quite hard to “catch”.

Enemy launches kamikaze drones in waves

< p>According to Bratchuk, the Russians use not only the Shahed-136, but also the Shahed-129 for attacks.

As a rule, the enemy launches several kamikaze drones in several waves . So if the first wave of devices has gone, then new attacks should be expected.

However, there have already been several cases when one drone was launched at a time. Perhaps this is due to the insufficiently high-quality professional training of the personnel controlling these drones. Therefore, the occupiers are trying to compensate for this with numbers,” the representative of the Odessa Regional Military District noted.

How the Ukrainian military counteracts the Iranian Shahed

He added that the armed forces of Ukraine already have developed algorithms for countering Iranian vehicles.

Today, not only our anti-aircraft missile units, but also other military structures can be involved. The troops already have the corresponding practical instructions,” Bratchuk said.

Bratchuk announced that kamikaze drones had hit the launch base

As the speaker of the Odesa OVA said , kamikaze drones move at a low speed – up to 200 kilometers per hour. The Russians are launching them from the temporarily occupied territory.

There is some information from representatives of the resistance in the South that in one of the districts of the Kherson region, there was previously a hit in one of the bases where there were Iranian instructors, as well as Russians who were supposed to control these drones,” Bratchuk said.

He expressed the hope that this information would be confirmed and “there would be losses not only in manpower, but also in kamikaze drones.”

What other enemy drones fly over the Odessa region

In addition to Iranian kamikaze drones, the Russian occupiers also launch other types of drones over Odessa region. A few days ago, an Orlan-10 reconnaissance aircraft was destroyed in the region.

Over the weekend, the enemy tried to activate aerial reconnaissance. This, as a rule, happens before a strike, – said the representative of the Odesa OVA.

Bratchuk added that because of this, massive missile strikes on Ukraine did not come as a surprise to the Ukrainian authorities.
