How habitable houses are designated in Mariupol
The Russian occupation troops captured a significant part of Mariupol. In the ruined city, isolated cases of surviving housing have to be noted. People do this to protect themselves from looting.
On April 26, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, Petr Andryushchenko, showed exactly how they do it. However, now these methods of protection have ceased to help, since the infidels carry out “nationalization” in the city.
Z appears on the doors
The photo released by the mayor's adviser shows the doors of one of the houses. They say “People live here”, and a sheet with similar words is also attached next to it. Previously, this partially saved us from looting and the “visit” of infidels.
But now this is not a salvation either. If the house is in good condition, a Z appears on the door. And people are forced to look for new housing instead of their own,” Andryushchenko said.

People are really being evicted
Also, Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk spoke about this so-called “nationalization” on the air of the national telethon. On April 26, she reported that statements from the occupation authorities began to circulate in Mariupol: they were talking about the nationalization of the housing of local residents.
It was about those houses where people cannot confirm the ownership of apartments. Russians not only deprive residents of housing, but also take away property. It is important that in the conditions of constant bombing of the city, civilians often simply lose their documents.
What is happening in the city now
- Russian troops besieged Mariupol is still on March 1st. Since then, they have tried to enter it and started shelling and bombing.
- After relentless strikes, most of the buildings of the city are simply destroyed. It is extremely difficult to establish the number of casualties among the population.
- Ukrainian soldiers, who later retreated in the city to the territory of the Azovstal plant, where they still hold a heroic defense. Under their protection, there are several hundred civilians in the company's vaults.
- The Russians began to take out thousands of people from the rest of the city. The deportees are sent to “filtration camps” and then to remote regions of Russia.
