Eagle Partner exercises will be held in Armenia with the participation of US military personnel/Collage Channel 24

The American military will arrive in Armenia for joint exercises Eagle Partner 2024. They will take place on July 15 – 24.

According to the Armenian Defense Ministry, The exercises will take place in preparation for participation in international peacekeeping missions. They will be attended by military personnel from the peacekeeping brigade of the Armenian Army, the US Army in Europe and Africa and the Kansas National Guard.

The purpose of the exercises is to increase the level of coherence of units participating in international peacekeeping missions within the framework of peacekeeping operations, exchange of experience in the field control and tactical communications, as well as increasing the combat readiness of the Armenian peacekeeping unit, the message says.

The exercises are the next step of Armenia towards rapprochement with the West after the military conflict with Azerbaijan and alienation from Moscow. Note that Armenia is preparing to withdraw from the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

Let us also recall that in 2023, about 85 American soldiers and about 175 Armenian soldiers participated in the exercises.

By the way, relations between Russia and Armenia have been especially tense lately. Armenia is taking a gradual course towards distancing itself from Putin. For example, recently the country's ambassador to Ukraine, Vladimir Karapetyan, visited Bucha and paid tribute to the memory of the victims, condemning Russian aggression. Because of this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the aggressor country sent a note of protest to the Armenian Foreign Ministry.

Moreover, at the end of June, Armenia was invited to the NATO summit as a partner of the Alliance. In addition, the United States offered the republic to expand cooperation in the military sphere, to which Yerevan agreed.
