“Honest” elections and the restoration of the USSR: what would Russia do if it captured Kyiv

by alex

Ukrainian intelligence revealed the Kremlin's plans to “capture Kyiv in 3 days” at the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. If this fantastic plan were realized, then Putin's godfather Viktor Medvedchuk or ex-president Viktor Yanukovych could become the head of the occupied Ukraine.

According to political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman, the Kremlin planned to hold elections in occupied Ukraine. He told Channel 24 about this. The political consultant suggested that, according to the Russian scenario, Medvedchuk should become the head of the Verkhovna Rada and automatically act as president.

Plan A: Medvedchuk

Sheitelman stressed that the Kremlin planned to hold elections in the occupied Ukraine in order to legitimize the power of the occupiers and show the world that “fair” elections would take place, because the previous ones were held by the “Banderites”.

The Russians know how to hold “fair” elections – Putin gets more than 80% of them in the presidential elections. Therefore, it was planned to use just such a mechanism in Ukraine,” he said.

The political strategist said that Medvedchuk, sitting in Russia, says that he is the head of the “peace party”, that he has a lot of fans in Ukraine, it's just that “Bandera” members do not allow voting for it, because it was banned.

“Of course, all Medvedchuk's activities are directed from the Kremlin, although for them he is the main adviser on Ukraine. He tells them that if elections are held in Ukraine now, he will win them. Therefore, the Kremlin was guided by the advice of Putin's godfather when they planned to put him in charge occupied Ukraine,” he stressed.

Plan B: Triple Alliance

Sheitelman mentioned that ahead of a full-scale invasion, a court in Moscow recognized Yanukovych as the “president of Ukraine.” And it was already a signal that the war would begin.

Indeed, at the beginning of the war, Yanukovych was in Minsk. He was probably supposed to be invited to negotiations in the house in Belovezhskaya Pushcha, where the collapse of the Soviet Union took place. he suggested.

According to him, it was Putin's idea that a Ukrainian delegation would come there and be arrested or killed. Then Lukashenka, Putin and Yanukovych would come there, and they would sign an agreement on the renewal of the Soviet Union.

Kremlin dreams

The political strategist noted that now the Kremlin has a dream to isolate the part of Ukraine that they have occupied. According to the first plan, they want to annex these territories to Russia – which they have decided on. If the West does not agree to this plan, they will offer to divide Ukraine, as Korea was once divided.

“And to create in the occupied territories South-Eastern Ukraine headed by Medvedchuk. Russian troops will be withdrawn from there – as the West demands – and they will turn into troops of South-Eastern Ukraine,” Mikhail Sheitelman stressed.

What is known about Russia's plans to “capture Kyiv in 3 days”

  • The Russians did not have a clear plan for who would come to lead Ukraine. the occupiers wanted our power to “fall”. Yes, in the event of the capture of Kyiv last year, the Kremlin prepared two scenarios for our state.
  • One of the scenarios involved the closest person to Putin in Ukraine, his godfather Viktor Medvedchuk. However, on the morning of February 24, Medvedchuk stopped communicating. A year after the start of the big war, both Medvedchuk's associates and members of Zelensky's team were convinced that bringing Putin's godfather to power was “Plan A” in the Kremlin.
  • The Ukrainian special services are convinced that the “surrounded” Verkhovna Rada should have removed the head of parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk. In general, it was supposed to happen on February 27th. Instead of Stefanchuk, Viktor Medvedchuk became the speaker.
  • The Kremlin's “Plan B” was former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych who fled to Russia. The SBU says that after the “disappearance” of Medvedchuk, the Russians considered the option of returning Yanukovych. As a result, the plan to “return Yanukovych” failed.
