Fire at a gas field in Russia/Video frame
In Russia, fires are increasingly occurring at large industrial facilities. Like a fire at the country's largest gas field in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
The fire broke out at night on one of the branches of the gas collector at the Gazprom dobycha Urengoy site at about 2:30 am local time. The place of the accident is located between the complex gas treatment units.
A pipe ruptured with a diameter of 1400 millimeters. The result was a massive fire. Tribes of fire reached several tens of meters in height.
Therefore, the company was forced to suspend work in order to redistribute gas flows.
After an hour and a half, the fire was eliminated. And subsequently, the production facilities will be put back into operation, the company assures.
In Russia, they are convinced that there are no victims as a result of the incident. True, rescuers were not allowed to the place of the fire – they liquidated everything by the forces of a private company.
The largest Russian gas field
The fire occurred at Russia's largest Urengoy oil and gas condensate field (Bolshoy Urengoy), discovered in 1966. In terms of hydrocarbon reserves, the Urengoyskoye field is classified as a super-giant field. The reserves are up to 10 trillion cubic meters of gas. It is the second largest in the world, second only to the South Pars/North Dome field, located in the Persian Gulf, and divided between Iran and Qatar.
Fire and “cotton” in Russia
Every day information appears in Russia not only about large-scale fires, but also about explosions. True, propagandists do not use the word “explosion” about the events in Russia, humiliatingly replacing it with “cotton”. Ukrainians call such “claps” in Russia “cotton”.
On June 17, a large-scale fire broke out at a logging enterprise in the Krasnoyarsk country. Its area was 10 thousand square meters. To liquidate it, they even had to use a fire train, as well as aviation, a Be-200 amphibious aircraft and a Mi-8 helicopter.
The Russian capital and its environs are also burning a lot. So, on June 14, there was a big fire at one of the factories near Moscow in Odintsovo – a paint and varnish factory broke out. A few days earlier, near Moscow, the territory of an optical-mechanical plant in Sergiev Posad was on fire. This plant, among other things, also produces military optics – from binoculars to optical sights.
And on June 3, fire engulfed the building of the business center. First, the lining of the central entrance caught fire, and subsequently the fire spread to all floors. The fire then assigned the maximum rank.
As for the “cotton”, it most often occurs in the regions of Russia bordering Ukraine. As a result of one of these “claps”, a considerable amount of military equipment burned down in the Bryansk region, which was brought from the war against Ukraine.
