So far, the United States has not yet allowed Ukraine to attack Russian territory with American weapons. However, this may change.

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken has made this clear. From his words it follows that the administration of President Joe Biden may be open to allowing Ukraine to use American weapons on the territory of the aggressor country.

The US government has adapted

Anthony Blinken reiterated that he does not encourage such attacks and the US is not yet providing the opportunity for such attacks, repeating his previous statements regarding Washington's position on this issue.

However, the Secretary of State explained that Kyiv must decide for itself how best to defend itself, and that the US government will “adapt and adjust its position as necessary” as the war develops.

Moreover, when asked by one of the journalists whether his words meant that the United States could support Ukrainian attacks against targets important to Russia, he answered positively.

Adaptation and adjustment mean just that, the American official said.

Recall that since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Washington sent military aid, but repeatedly asked not to attack Russian territory with American-made weapons, fearing an escalation of the war.

Who authorized the use of their weapons for strikes deep into Russia

  • It is known that as of this minute, 11 partner countries have officially reported that not against using their weapons for attacks on Russian territory. We are talking about France, Lithuania, Latvia, Canada, Sweden, Estonia, Poland, Finland, the Czech Republic, Great Britain and the Netherlands.
  • In particular, French President Emmanuel Macron noted that Allies must allow Ukraine to “neutralize military bases from which missiles are launched.” The leader stressed that French weapons should exclusively hit military targets of the Russian occupiers, and civilians – in no case.
  • The Washington Post wrote that United States President Joe Biden may agree permission for Ukraine to strike the territory of the aggressor country with American weapons. It is noted that this decision may be a response to China’s supply of advanced technologies to Russia.
