HIMARS in Ukraine: everything will be fine

HIMARS on the way to Europe/MoD of Romania

Stop whining folks. If you are going to give 4 highmars, you don't train 60 people on them and you don't continue to train them.

60

The US has already trained 60 Ukrainian soldiers on the M142 HIMARS. The crew of one installation is three people.

Probably, these 60 people include not only the crews themselves, but also mechanics and, possibly, some other personnel. On the other hand, the training of other soldiers continues.

We can conclude that we are talking about the transfer of at least one division (probably 18 installations).

At the same time, for example, on the M777 howitzer, the Americans announced 420 trained with 108 howitzers transferred (calculation of 7 – 8 people).

Some soldiers are trained by other countries, mechanics are probably not included in the numbers and maybe we even have training on our own. That is, the math above is rather conservative. Maybe we are talking about 2 divisions.

300

By the way, the Americans trained 300 Ukrainians with a crew of 4 people on the also very important M109 self-propelled guns.

That is we can talk about the transfer of almost a hundred self-propelled guns. At the same time, the M109 is widespread, not only Americans can transfer and train (22 have already been transferred by Norway).

3 and others

It is worth noting that Hymars, only on M270 tracks, seems to at this stage it is the task of other countries and it is they who train and transfer the systems. Great Britain and Germany from those announced.

Yes, Germany does not know when it will transfer its 3 installations, but, as far as I understand, it is in training that Germany helps us a lot and does not let us down.

M270 is generally more numerous and not as scarce as the M142, therefore, it is likely that we are also talking about at least one division at the first stage.
