Ukrainian soldiers continue to liberate our lands from Russian invaders. Winter is ahead, which may in a certain way affect the course of hostilities at the front.
This Channel 24 said Ivan Stupak, a former SBU employee, an expert at the Institute for the Future. At the same time, he noted that there would be no problems for HIMARS systems.
What will affect the course of hostilities in winter
Stupak noted that the one who will be the first to quickly prepare for winter will be of great importance. And the weapons will work in cold weather.
HIMARS work in winter. That is, there are no problems for them. This is good news, indeed, – stressed the ex-SBU officer.
He noted that weather conditions can lead to certain difficulties. If the Russians at the beginning of the invasion, that is, at the end of February, could still spend the night in the trenches, then now it will be very difficult. After all, there will be slush and rain.

What will help the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Stupak said that the Russians are counting on the so-called general-rain. That is, the fact that dirt can stop the offensive actions of the Ukrainians.
He recalled that the Germans during the Second World War also hoped that the onset of winter cold would stop the offensive of the allied forces, but nothing happened – the offensive went on as it would.
Especially since the locals help us. In every new settlement that has been liberated, people meet our military and give, indeed, the last thing – food, means of heating. They let them into their homes,” stressed the former SBU officer.
The Russians, Stupak added, cannot boast of this. Where they hold the defense, almost everything is destroyed, plundered. the occupiers are simply shooting themselves in the foot, destroying houses where they could theoretically hide for the winter.
By the way! The United States said that Ukraine's success in the war with Russia and the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were not surprising allies and partners. The Pentagon is convinced that the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stunned the Russians rather than the Russians themselves. At the same time, the enemy does not leave attempts to attack at least somewhere. We tell you, near which settlements the Russians tried to advance.
