In the Philippines there was this outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of agricultural development of the country.

A disease has struck the poultry farm with chickens in the province of Pampanga in the North. Because of this, it was necessary to destroy more than 38.7 thousand birds. The Ministry explained that the meat, the farm is set on the Philippine markets, not poses risks. Although avian influenza is by definition a disease that can be transmitted to humans through eating poultry meat to catch it is impossible.

The cause of infection is not established, however, the Department pointed to the presence of migratory birds. It is usually associated with them the spread of viruses among domestic species. The authorities have warned breeders about the dangers and encouraged to protect their birds from contact with wild carriers of the disease.

Earlier it became known about China’s new strain of swine flu, which poses a potentially threat of a pandemic. However, the representatives of the world health organization (who) has assured that the virus is not dangerous to humans.
