Health Minister Viktor Lyashko said this during the Second International Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen in Kyiv.
Algorithm brought to hospitals
Lyashko noted that he could not yet report the number of people in need of prosthetics. According to him, this information will be provided by the Ministry of Defense when it is possible.
A clear algorithm has been developed, which today is already brought to Ukrainian hospitals so that doctors can immediately tell this to an injured or family with him. So that they clearly understand the mechanism of how documents are submitted, which manufacturing company – in order to choose the best and most convenient for a person, – said Lyashko.

Lyashko noted that the prosthesis will not last a lifetime, it needs maintenance. Therefore, Ukraine is working on this with international partners in order to localize as much production as possible on the territory of our country in order to continue maintenance of prostheses.
The minister also added that international partners help with prosthetics. But this requires the consent of the person who needs it. After all, it will take a long time and not everyone is ready to leave the territory of Ukraine for such a time.
Challenges for Ukrainian medicine because of the war
Earlier, Viktor Lyashko reported that after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 14 doctors died and 48 were injured. Also, the Russian invaders completely destroyed 122 medical institutions.
In addition, the war will have a negative impact on the health of Ukrainians. According to the minister, people who are now experiencing the consequences of the war in Ukraine have “aged” by 10-15 years. That is, illnesses that people had, for example, at the age of 60, will now suffer from them at the age of 45-50.
