โ A young family from Mariupol found themselves in the epicenter of the war at the very beginning of the full-scale invasion. Their eldest son was only four years old at the time. They were unable to leave the city and were forced to remain under occupation. In September 2022, a daughter was born. The father of the family is a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, so the whole family was under threat, — he wrote.
According to Yermak, they hid every day to avoid persecution, their struggle for survival lasted more than two years.
Another family – two parents and their six-month-old son – lived in their native village in the south of Ukraine when a full-scale war began.
— The father immediately went to defend the country in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but a few months later he was captured. There he was tortured: beaten, electroshocked, forced to sing the Russian anthem. He had no contact with his family, Yermak said.
After that, according to him, his mother stayed home with her little son. Their village was occupied, and it was becoming increasingly difficult to leave. The mother was forced to hide from the occupiers, fearing for her son's life every day and praying for her husband.
After the father was returned from captivity, the family again faced difficulties: the Russians did not let the mother and son leave the occupied territory, taking them for interrogations. After numerous attempts, the family was able to reunite.
