What you should know about the defense of Mariupol
- For almost three months, the defenders of Mariupol held their positions in the complete encirclement of Russian troops. During this time, they managed to destroy approximately 6,000 infidels. - The operation to rescue the blocked Ukrainian military at Azovstal began on May 16. At that time, 53 seriously wounded defenders were evacuated and taken to a medical facility in the occupied Novoazovsk.
- Now there are more than 2.5 thousand Ukrainian soldiers in Russia who were evacuated from Azovstal. All of them became “public prisoners”, so it is unprofitable for the aggressor country to use torture against our defenders. This was stated by Volodymyr Zelensky.
- On May 20, one of the commanders of the garrison at Azovstal, Lieutenant Colonel Denis Prokopenko, wrote down an appeal, where he said that the top military leadership had given the order to stop the defense of the city.
- Ukraine has information on the conditions of detention of the Ukrainian defenders of Mariupol, who were evacuated from Azovstal. However, the Ukrainian authorities cannot disclose the details.
